Your Cream Turned Yellow - Now What?
YOUR CREAM TURNED YELLOW - NOW WHAT?
Or maybe it hasn’t, which means you’re doing something right! But if it has, don’t worry! We’re here to explain why that happens and how you can prevent this from happening.
The culprit : Vitamin C!
Yes. As much as we love it, it also can be what causes this less than beautiful color change.
When Vitamin C is exposed to air for prolonged periods of time, it oxidizes which in turn causes the yellow/brown color change in our usually white cream. It is a natural process that happens to Vitamin C that is not reflective of the quality of the product.
Couldn’t we put something in the formula to prevent this? Yes, of course but we chose not to.
We chose to use all natural preservatives
We figured that it’s better for your skin to use only natural preservatives and exclude any chemicals that, although would help prevent oxidation, would be harsh on your skin. Instead, we simply let nature do what it does best.
That being said, oxidation of your Vitamin C can be prevented! Simply keep the lid that comes with your new Lendava cream and always use it to cover the cream before closing it with the top cap. This forms an airtight seal for the cream. Also, avoid touching the cream with your fingers which can also bring new bacteria into the cream by using the spatula that comes with your Lendava product.
High quality ingredients require high quality care
Vitamin C is essential to our formula because of all it’s benefits : lightens pigmentation, protects your skin from free radicals, serves as an antioxidant, and reduces redness. We absolutely love it despite it’s natural downfall of oxidizing.
